RIO IAA 2018

Corporate Film

Serviceplan hired 908 to produce a corporate film for RIO at the IAA 2018. RIO is a cloud-based logistics platform that operates transparently and independently of manufacturers. They bundle digital solutions of the transportation & logistics ecosystem and increase efficiency and transparency in transportation. We based the visuals on the iconic 2D patterns of RIO’s corporate design. These patterns were the starting point for a fully generated 3D world with fluid transitions and animations.

Making Of

To translate the diversity and playfulness of RIO’s design, we decided to use different animation techniques, from realistic or flat 3D animations to classic 2D animations, from glowing pixel clouds to self-constructive trucks.

Variation & Cohesion

For each era in the development of logistics, we chose a different pattern and color scheme. To create cohesion, we did not start from zero but looked for inspiration in RIO’s corporate design.

Realtime Decision

Thanks to intelligent algorithms, RIO combines different sources of data and analyzes them. We translated this process into a visual appealing representation.
